    Realtek RTL8191SE

    Hi there.

    I recently purchased a laptop Toshiba L500-13W.
I have installed Ubuntu on it and i have ony one problem for now.

It's Realtek RTL8191SE wireless lan isn't recognized by Ubuntu.

On a desperate try to put it working i've made the upgrade to the new Ubuntu version 9.10(its still in beta) but i couldn't put it to work.

I was hopping for a bit of help regarding this.

    Ty for your time.

    hello pixelized
there is no linuxdriver yet for rtl8191se and rtl8192se. You get your realtek 8191se wifi working by installing ndiswrapper from synaptic in ubuntu + GUI and download the win2000 only driver net8192se.sys and net8192se.inf. the combidriver w2kxp or the xp or vista donīt work!!! After that use WPA because WEP encryption is not supported. good luck. rob

    thread obsolete

this thread has become obsolete because realtek rtl8191se drivers are working great: search: rtl8192se_linux_2.6.0015.0127.2010.tar.gz. the 8192se driver is also for 8191se.
