    Why so slow?

    Alright, so I just downloaded Ubuntu and currently have it on dual-boot settings. When I use Vista, everything works fine. It runs fast, no problems. When I run Ubuntu however (oh it's 9.x whatever the newest is) it loads at a decent speed. But it lags like crazy! It should not do that with the specs on my laptop.

    AMD Turion X2 mobile processor RM-70 / 2.0 GHz Dual Core
    L2 Cache 1MB
    3 Gigs DDR2 200 Pin count
    200 GB Hard drive.
    NVIDIA GeForce 8200M 256MB dedicated 1.4GB shared

    Anybody know what's up?

    Have you installed Nvidia driver through Hardware drivers option? Its in Administrative Menu.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
