Ubuntu 8.10 - Pidgin - Network Manager Issue

    Hello All,

I am using Ubuntu 8.10. Pidgin recently started giving issues. Whenever I try to connect, pidgin just waits forever Waiting for Network Connection.

This happens when I am on home network. I have a static public IP address at home which I assign through terminal. I have connectivity to internet. It's just that pidgin doesn't get up n running.
For some reason, network manager doesn't process static IP addresses.

Pidgin works fine when I am at work getting DHCP addresses though.

Could anyone suggest a resolution for this issue. It is a weird behavior from network manager.

    Best Regards,
    Victor

A while ago, Yahoo made some changes that broke Pidgin.

The issue was quickly fixed, but you need to upgrade.
