    amarok 2.1.1 crashes EVERY time

    Hi All,

I've been using Amarok 2 for quite awhile with no issues. I decided to go to Karmic Alpha 5 and everything was fine with Amarok but I had a few other bugs that I couldn't handle so I formatted and downgraded to Jaunty (but kept my home folder). Now EVERY time I try to open amarok I get hit with this error:

The application Amarok (amarok) crashed and caused the signal 6 (SIGABRT).
the bug report generated looks like this:

    Application: Amarok (amarok), signal SIGABRT

    Hi jmadero
Because you kept your Home directory, can you not remove any user 'conf' files related to Amarok and have them recreated on restart? As a relative new comer to this forum I hope my attempt to help is not overly simplistic.
I have downloaded, and quite enjoy, a Music Player called Exaile. I assume it is available for your distro. I find it simple and not so pushy as some of the other players that are always trying to import stuff that I do not want imported.
    Cheers...

Hi Robert. Thanks for the input, I actually had solved it a couple nights ago, and you're right, it was one of the config files but not one of the main ones that I had immediately suspected of being the issue, it was in my pulseaudio configs, not in amarok. I'd highly recommend you checking out Amarok...it's by far the best player, I've used Exaile and it fell short....

I think I'm the only linux user who hates Amarok.

MPD and ncmpc++ all the way.

    Hi jmadero
I just installed Amarok and now I remember why I abandoned it. I am unable to play CDs. It comes up with an error. See attachment. I am using F11 for some reason I am unable to play original CDs.
It may simply be a setting but it was annoying.
    Cheers...
