I haven't been able to run Compiz since I upgraded to Jaunty. I got it running for a few minutes once until I restarted. I do not remember what I ended up doing but it still was not 100% at that point. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Thanks

How did you update Jaunty? I take it you upgraded via the automatic updater?

Quite often that doesn't work too well. I'd recommend reinstalling Compiz using apt-get.

I did up date it through the automatic updater. I tried to reinstall Compiz using apt-get and it said everything was up to date except 9 things needed to be upgraded. So, I did "sudo apt-get upgrade compiz." It asked me to restart my computer. I did and I have the same basic results. Fusion-Icon doesn't start CCSM won't start and when I go through appearance to start compiz the borders just disappear.

Have you tried removing (not upgrading) all the compiz components?

Auto-updates always manage to leave some problems behind....

When I did "sudo apt-get remove" to remove all the compiz files I could find this is what showed up everytime. Is there an easy way to remove all these unneeded files?
