Compiz isn't working check out these results
I don't know if you guys are familiar with Compiz-check or not, but here is the results of that. Then the results of "fusion-icon" and "ccsm".
Fusion-Icon results when I run in Terminal.Code:./compiz-check Gathering information about your system... Distribution: Ubuntu 9.04 Desktop environment: GNOME Graphics chip: nVidia Corporation GeForce 7150M (rev a2) Driver in use: nvidia Rendering method: Nvidia Checking if it's possible to run Compiz on your system... [ OK ] Checking for hardware/setup problems... [WARN] Something potential problematic has been detected with your setup: Warning: No path to Compiz found. Would you like to know more? (Y/n) y In case you did not compile Compiz manually, this will result in Compiz failing to run.
CCSM results when I run it in the TerminalCode:fusion-icon Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/fusion-icon", line 57, in <module> from FusionIcon.interface import choose_interface File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/FusionIcon/interface.py", line 21, in <module> from util import env File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/FusionIcon/util.py", line 21, in <module> import os, compizconfig, ConfigParser, time ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/compizconfig.so: undefined symbol: ccsGetPluginStrExtensions
I haven't been able to run Compiz since I upgraded to Jaunty. I got it running for a few minutes once until I restarted. I do not remember what I ended up doing but it still was not 100% at that point. Can anyone please point me in the right direction? ThanksCode:ccsm Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/bin/ccsm", line 38, in <module> import compizconfig ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/compizconfig.so: undefined symbol: ccsGetPluginStrExtensions

How did you update Jaunty? I take it you upgraded via the automatic updater?
Quite often that doesn't work too well. I'd recommend reinstalling Compiz using apt-get.Registered Linux user #388328 || Registered LFS user #15880

I did up date it through the automatic updater. I tried to reinstall Compiz using apt-get and it said everything was up to date except 9 things needed to be upgraded. So, I did "sudo apt-get upgrade compiz." It asked me to restart my computer. I did and I have the same basic results. Fusion-Icon doesn't start CCSM won't start and when I go through appearance to start compiz the borders just disappear.

Have you tried removing (not upgrading) all the compiz components?
Auto-updates always manage to leave some problems behind....Registered Linux user #388328 || Registered LFS user #15880

When I did "sudo apt-get remove" to remove all the compiz files I could find this is what showed up everytime. Is there an easy way to remove all these unneeded files?
