Ubuntu 8.10 - kvpnc + wine + network manager issue

    Hello All,

I have configured the following for connecting to work over the vpn:

    a. Wine - to run softtoken (pin generation for vpnc)
    b. Kvpnc - works fine (uses pin from wine softtoken)

I tested it out at workplace and it connected fine to the vpn head end device.

At home, I have a static public ip. For some reason, network manager does not accept static public IP address. Therefore, I assign the IP using terminal as root and connect to the internet.

The issue is now when I try to generate the PIN using wine softtoken, it starts throwing error:
err:module:import_dll Library SoftAPI-II.dll (which is needed by L"Z:\\home\\victor\\.wine\\drive_c\\Program Files\\SofToken-II\\Console_UI.exe") not found
err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"Z:\\home\\victor\\.wine\\drive_c\\Program Files\\SofToken-II\\Console_UI.exe" failed, status c0000135

I have checked and the dll is present in the wine windows/system directory.
Issue is not with Wine since I can execute other programs fine.

One more thing I have noticed is that with static IP addressing via terminal & network manager disconnected (without any ip address), pidgin fails to connect.

Could this be somehow related to network manager?

Please suggest how wine issues can be resolved.

    Best Regards,
    Victor
