    Unable to enumerate USB???

It's interesting to see that someone else has this information line appear at start-up and 733 people viewed it )if i noticed correctly) yet no replies. Come on guys, someone must know something about this. I have the message appearing when I boot into Ubuntu 8.10 too but, not when I boot CrunchBang. I don't want to go to 9.04 because I end up with the window resize delay of a few seconds when I install and configure Compiz. Compiz works fine in 8.10 and I am hopeful that 9.10 will see an end to window resize lag once and for all.
Yes I have tried the payches and all suggestions to no avait. I like the smooth functionality of Compiz with 8.10 but, now as you can see I am getting this message appearing at boot time. I did notice that this was not appearing before I started to play with creating a USB start-up disc. I changed the BIOS back to boot from CD first when I successfully installed using the USB key but, the message does not go away.
    Any ideas???

I'm not really following you, what's the problem you're having exactly?

    USB enumerate message

    Hi bigtomrodney
Sorry I haven't replied sooner - I have been away.
I had been getting a message at boot time about not being able to enumerate a USB device. Then the boot carries on. I had thought this was the result of me playing with installing Ubuntu using a USB key. I installed Ubuntu again from a CD and checked that the USB device was not firts in the boot order before I started but, this did not clear the message. As I was just getting tinto CrunchBang I installed CrunchBang over Ubuntu and now I don't see the message (unless CrunchBang is hiding it at boot time).
Anyways it has done me no harm although I see from other posts that it can be a problem.
Interesting that this message was not around before I used a USB key for installation...
