    remapping the keyboard



    My C key is crap it sticks i have done my best to clean it out but it still sucks. Is there anyway i can remap the left alt as my C key?

    I think there is a way but it may be harder than getting another keyboard?
    i mean you have to go set up your language (english) as the second language and then may be you can get into the menu and assign the C key as something else.
    in fact you can press any key combo to assign diff. roles.
    may be there is a role for C in there? I dont know?

    Buy a usb keyboard that is compatible with your distro then de-activate the original keyboard ?

    Well, you can but it's expensive, delicate, and time consuming.

    I wouldn't disable the default keyboard, you might still need it at some point, but I agree that you are better of using an external keyboard for now. come to think of it, you might find useful another keyboard anyway to remap the current one (to assign another key as "c").
