Laptop does not detect PC Camera
Hi,
My Laptop running on Ubuntu does not detect PC Camera. It is driverless USB Webcam for Windows from entermultimedia.com
When I write lsusb in Terminal, it gives me below results :-
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0c45:62c0 Microdia Pavilion Webcam
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
But when I open XSane Image Scanning Program, it says, Failed to open device 'v4l:/dev/video0': invalid argument.
When I write ls /dev/video0* in Terminal, it says /dev/video0
Please help me to make this webcam working.
Thank you,
Naresh

Well, Linux detects camera, that is why you can see that in list and you get device file /dev/video0
Try application Cheese, gtKam and see if they are giving any output or not.

btw, XSANE / SANE is only for scanner devices.
If you want to get image directly in Gimp you can install gtkam-gimp package
