    Ubuntu jacked up!

So a while ago I bought a Dell mini 9 with ubuntu pre installed, and I like the way kubuntu desk top looked better so I installed it. Right away I was having problems with my wireless after the install so I un-installed it through the synaptic package manager. Now the only way to get my wireless card to work is by system>admin>hardware drivers and that involves disabling it and enabling it. My built in web cam doesn't work anymore and when I try to install things It wont and gives me a error like when I tried to install skype it says ERROR: Dependency is not satisfiable: Libasound 2. Then it wont install my updates it says
    Can't guess meta-package
Your system does not contain a ubuntu-desktop, kubuntu-desktop, xubuntu-desktop or edubuntu-desktop package and it was not possible to detect which version of Ubuntu you are running.
Please install one of the packages above first using synaptic or apt-get before proceeding.

    Then it says

    Could not calculate the upgrade

A unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.

    This can be caused by:
    * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
    * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
    * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

This is most likely a transient problem, please try again later.

I don't know what to do, I cannot do a reinstall because it is a net book and no disc drive so any options would be great. Thanks.

Do you have a flash drive? You can make a bootable usb flash drive to re-install or install another distro.

Obviously, something got messed up while installing kde...how did you install it? Did you use the meta-package kubuntu-desktop or select individual components? Also, how big is your drive? If you've got a mini with a 4gb or 8gb ssd, you might have run out of room, causing troubles. KDE is pretty large.

I have a 16 GB ssd, and I installed the package but I think where I messed up was I uninstalled kde one package at a time. I dont have a usb just a external hdd. Plus my other concern is the driver for my wireless, It is a third party so if I re install ubuntu then my wireless wont work unless I have the driver which I dont.

The card requires the broadcom-wl driver. If you can get a wired connection for a few minutes, you can download and install it via Ubuntu's driver manager after a reinstall.
