I don't know how to change them by BIOS, but on my way, I install a virtual machine on my pc, it name is virtualbox. I think is very convenient and nice and so quickly,, if your RAM is big enough .

The BIOS doesn't know how to do this, only the grub boot loader can.

You can disable the Grub/Linux HD in the BIOS to switch to a Windows HD..
So the bios can do it =)

If you have grub install on the linux hdd and XP's boot code in it's hdd where both hdd's are independent from each other, then go into bios and change the hdd boot order. Some bios's do not have the option. Some bios have a F key one can press duing post to select boot device.

How is this more convenient than just choosing one or the other from the bootloader? Is there a specific reason you want to do it through the BIOS?

    reboot and boot into ubuntu

If you want to run 2 OS at the same time, you need to use virtualization such as virtualbox or vmware
