Arrow [SOLVED] Here's a good one for you all

I have an old Dell Latitiude laptop and I would like to run Xubuntu on it so it runs
faster than the Windows XP which is crawling along. Having download the programme on to a CD-R and changing the Boot up location to CD DRIVE it does not load.

    coming with the following message:
No Bootable device selected, strike F1 to retry reboot. After pressing F1 nothing still happens. I would appreciate any help on this one thanks

    Welcome to the forums!

It sounds like you might have burned the ISO file to the blank disk as a file rather than as an image. Check this HowTo for the proper steps to download and burn the ISO file to disk, and then boot with the newly created disk:

Thanks, ozar just show us to get out of the windows mindset.
I'll re-download it correctly and sees what happens.
Thanks for your prompt reply, most appreciated.
I'll let you know how I get on.
