    Issues with USB Wired mouse.

    Greetings.

Firstly I have searched a fair bit, but not found any articles that seam to offer help on my specific issue (which I am surprised of, so probably me failing at searching.)

But I had issues with my old Ubuntu install (namely WoW downloader wouldnt work properly) in the end I just reinstalled Ubuntu - the disc i used was my old install. 8.xx (not sure exact version) and my mouse worked then, once updated to 9.04. My mouse ceased to work. The red light appears on the mouse (So power is getting to it from usb port.) - It worked on my old 9.04 install. But was a while ago since I did that, so I may have had issues with a mouse before and simply forgot the solution.

Anyways, the mouse im using is a Mikomi Mini mouse (I don't know the exact details, as i cant find it online either. It keeps getting called this - I purchased it from Argos for those willing to search.) All posts I have looked at are mainly in reference to Wireless Keyboard/mouse using same dongle(?). I tried one method, I cant remember exactly what it was, It was removing to lines from a code in Sudo mode. If repeated I will remember what it is, but it did not work.

In short, from what I can tell there seams to be a common usb mouse issue with people upgrading to 9.04 as I did. Any advice on what to do? (Touchpad is friggin' annoying - esp if wowing, which now works)

    Thankyou in advance.

I'll start by saying I haven't run Ubuntu 9 and don't have a clue what's going on, but I figured I could ask a question anyway.

Just out of curiosity, have you trie plugging the mouse in after the computer is done booting?

If it still fails, what's the output of dmesg | tail (after plugging the mouse in)?

Yes I have, Infact i usually plub mouse in after starting. I had it working briefly yesterday a few times. So i'm wondering if it is my mouse itself...

What part of dmesg do you want? it is a long text. Also including it all apparently has 7 images in (forum must be picking up code thinking it is bbcode or something), so wont let me post (max of 4 allowed.) - Silly forum...

dmesg | tail will just give you the end of dmesg.

You should post it in code tags, which will work around the image issue.
