Hello, Someone suggested I try this: (Caffeine)

Caffeine for Linux 1.0 is released! | Blast from the past

I have just installed and will report back if it makes a difference, but my problem is the screen going black when I am NOT using the computer...away making a coffee or something, but if I am playing a game or something it never happens.

Anyway a neat little program for people to know about.

In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, Caffeine is a tiny little applet that sits in your system tray and uses magical caffeine to keep your computer from going asleep or activating the screensaver. This could be helpful when you’re giving presentations, playing full-screen games or when you’re watching flash videos.
I just wanted to show you this out put and see if you can see something:

Code:
-desktop:~$ grep -i dpms /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(II) Loading extension DPMS
(II) fglrx(0): DPMS capabilities: StandBy Suspend Off; RGB/Color Display
(II) fglrx(0): DPMS enabled
The DPMS is in red.
