    Hi donaldfarkas,

First of all, I know that I'm not answering your question outright. However, since your post has been idle for a few days I thought I would put in my two cents.

Since you have already run into problems with k9copy you may have to just try them out, to see if any of them work properly with your burner, before you settle on one. Alternatively you could open a new thread about your k9copy problems and maybe get them fixed up.

Finally, you could consider a secondary solution. Programs such as mplayer can allow you to rip your "personal home dvds" to an alternative digital format (.avi, .vob, etc.). This way they can be sized to fit on a DVD or just played from your computer from a nice big hard drive. Furthermore, I know of two applications which can re-encode the video file to a DVD format: Devede and also Cinelerra, but I've never used them. (devede seems to be piggy-backed on mplayer's inner workings, so that would be what I tried first)

I hope my two cents helps. If you do find a good solution that works well please let us all know.
