Question Absolute Newb - RealPlayer 11 help

Okay, so I downloaded RealPlayer11GOLD.bin, but it asks for a program to open a .bin file. I have no idea what a .bin file even is, so my question(s) are:

    2) How do I install RealPlayer in Netbook Ubuntu Remix

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!

I think the .bin file is an installer. It is an executable
program or executable script. Right click, choose properties,
permissions, Allow executing as a program
