[SOLVED] No Input Signal on Monitor
I am tring to install the latest version of Ubuntu for the fist time on an old P4 2.66 with built in graphics. I have been using Suse for a number of years, but have no experience with consoles etc. I just want something that works straight from the install cd. When i first tried to install I kept getting a white screen, so I installed using safe graphics mode. Halfway through the install, before I can sett username an password, the monitor says no input signal and stays blank. I have no idea what graphics are buit in and I am using a generic 15" monitor.
Please can you help
Many thanks

the sudo lspci brings up a large number of pci items, the vga controller is an Sis 6326. The grep -i vga command just hangs.

I have SIS Card in one of my machine and its native "sis" driver has never worked with any distro. You have to select "vesa" driver.
Anyways, I am glad you have sorted out your problem. Do start a new thread if you have any other question. Enjoy Linux World !!
