can't type at times in some program (user specific)

So I have a really weird issue going on (I've had it before after upgrading to Intrepid as well, then I just started from scratch with my user).

    Issue:
At times I cannot type in some applications --> mostly pidgin, but if I alt+tab and go back to the window then I can type. That's only for pidgin though, I can't type at all in pandora's search box. I just checked and my other two users (one Gnome, one KDE) can type no problem in Pandora and have no issues with Pidgin.

So my question is what hidden folder/file is most likely to cause this behavior? I'm willing to delete most of the stuff in my home folder so your suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise I have to start a new user and just copy over the folders/files that I want, which you all know I'm sure that I'm 95% likely of forgetting something and then thinking to myself "WHY DID I DO THAT!?".

Once I find the file I'll post a bug over in launchpad. Thanks all

can someone try going to pandora.com and see if you are able to type consistently in the search stations section...I had it working not an hour ago...thought it was a flash issue so I did the manual install of 64 bit flash, but now again I'm unable to type in the pandora search box....any ideas what would be causing this?

    Hi,
I tried the searchfield for music. Strangely, the first character did not show, no matter what character. But i couldn't stay on to test a bit more. They threw me out because I'm living outside the States.
