Display problems
1st let me start by saying that I am new to linux-Ubuntu operating systems, but I've gotten tired of the constrictions of Windows so now its time for me to take more control. I recently installed Ubuntu on my laptop and Im having some issues with the display when viewing some web pages. It is cutting some of the windows short and I would like to change this. I am computer savvy, but have been spoon fed by windows for the last 15 years so I dont know much about programming and command line. Any help fixing my display would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance

There are sections of a web page that I cant see because it looks like the browser doesnt have enough room to display it. Its like the lower part of this box will be cut-off. But u can see something is there because half of the letters are showing. Im wondering if I can change the resolution size of the desktop to fix the problem. I hope this gives an idea of my problem.

I think I understand your problem. It's normally down to badly designed websites. I have a similar problem with the 4od website where I have to tick a box to say I'm over 16 but the box is displayed off the page. I can just about reach it on my laptop by going to View -> Full screen
Make sure that your browser is maximised too as it may be your browser not fitting inside your resolution.
Which website are you having problems with? If you don't mind posting the address replace the .'s with ,'s as you can't post websites yet as you're a new userLinux User #453176

It's an online game called evony......I can see the full display when I use windows, but for some reason linux will cut out some of the display. Its not a huge issue since I've havent noticed it in many other places, It would just be good to be able know how to fix the problem if I run into it again.

I would say it's down to bad site design then. You can try using full screen like I explained before but this will only give you a little extra display space so you may only see a little bit more.
How about going for a higher resolution?Linux User #453176
