install new firefox in ubuntu 9.04

i just want to update firefox form 3.0.8 to 3.5 in my ubuntu 9.04.
i have downloaded the source dont know how to execute it.
plzz guide me to install any thing from source.
i dont have any compilers installed. also mention the compilers needed for it.

It's in the Ubuntu repositories, but I believe installs side by side with 3.0.x rather than replacing it.
