    Limited screen resolution ubuntu 9.10

    I am a newbie.I have a multi boot with Windows and UBuntu.My monitor is Acer 19 inches.My chipset is g35(VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82G35 Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)).Unable to increase the resolution greater than 800x600.I had ubuntu 9.04 installed earlier and this problem was not present there.I tried creating xorg.conf with the help of xorg.conf of 9.04 with no result KIndly give some step by step guidance to resolve this issue.

    Personally, I would hold off on 9.10 and stay with 9.04. There have been a lot of reports of this sort of problem with 9.10 and until I am convinced they are resolved I would suggest the old adage of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is applicable here. I have had VERY good results with 9.04 on a wide variety of hardware, and have heard of VERY few problems with it. Though I haven't personally tried 9.10 yet (I might in a virtual machine), I have heard a lot of complaints about it breaking systems that worked previously.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.

    thanks for replying.Me too went back to 9.04.
