    Net Keeps Dropping

    Hi All,

My girlfriend runs Karmic and it runs great from home but at work it drops internet (wi-fi) every 5-10 minutes for a few seconds and then reconnects without even telling her anything (it doesn't show disconnected in network manager but pidgin disconnects, gmail will disconnect, can't browse the net for a few seconds). Any ideas what could be causing this? It's forcing her to use Windows and she's irritated because of it

What's the wireless card and driver? I've seen complaints of the ath5k and ath9k drivers dropping connections.

Might also try wicd instead of networkmanager.

    Network signal strength?

My new blog. It's probably not as good as I think it is.

Really strong, Windows 7 never drops so I don't think it's signal strength as she gets stronger strength in Linux than in Windows

What card is it? It might be worth searching through [urlhttps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/]here[/url] to see if there is a fix.
