    Installing Ub untu9.04

    Every tim e I try to load Unbuntu 9.04 I get to 60% of installation and everything locks and will not go any further. I know the disc is ok as it has loaded sucessfully onyo a friends computer
    Has anyone any ideas?

    Welcome to the forums!

    I'd try using the alternate installation disk (text installer) if you haven't tried it already. For whatever reason, it works for me every time whereas the liveCD installer always fails. If that doesn't work, you might need to try booting with some of the various kernel boot options available to you:

    You might also want to consider trying version 9.10 since it should have better hardware detection.
