    how to change boot up screen

    Hi. I am using Ubuntu 8.10. I want to change the boot up screen which is coming as ubuntu loading bar and login screen. Where to change that and how to do that? i dont want to use the default ubuntu theme or kubuntu themes etc. I want to use my own image.

    Are you using Gnome or KDE desktop manager? For Gnome first check at the log in screen, there may be under the options section a option to change the login. If not after you log in go to System > Administration > Login Window then go to the Local tab and see if that is what you are looking for.

    I think you're talking about the usplash... I'm not sure if that info still works, but you can try:
