Plug-in stick and execute this in Terminal :
Does it recognize stick and assign any drive letter to it? Post output here.Code:tail -s 3 -f /var/log/messages
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

May be a 'hotplugging' issue? Did you try with any other another distro?

well i have a compaq machine which as the same distro on it and no issue with this problem. so must be related to the chipset the ibm are using. thats my guess. On a side note i realy want to go with SimplyMepis on this cause I feels more XP like which more users are used to and are more willing to to try it.
