Two problems using F-Spot in 9.04
Hi,
I have two little problems using F-Spot photo manager in Jaunty.
1. When I have a photo up and click on "edit image" absolutely nothing happens. I've gone through the help instructions and I dont see I'm doing anything wrong so do I need to install something?
2. maybe linked to above perhaps? I was deleting photos from the catalog which had already been deleted from the HD and after 2 or 3 F-Spot would suddenly close on me and I'd have to restart it.
Someone told me F-spot is C*** and sugested other options, which of course I'm always interested in hearing about as there are some feature of F-Spot I'm not crazy about. But I'd like to get to the bottom of the above problems as they may be indicative of an underlying issue.
Any Ideas folks?Ubuntu Lucid 10.10

OK I still await thoughts on my original problem(s) which remain...
However, I thought I'd try removing F-Spot in Synaptic and then re-installing. No change except now there is no icon for F-spot, you now the nice little camera shutter one. Instead its just a boring page symbol like a windows short cut. How do I get it back? And of course any ideas to the above problem.
Thanks!Ubuntu Lucid 10.10

In case you didn't remove the underlying problems with F-spot. You can remove and reinstall it using your terminal using apt-get.

Thanks for that. I wasn't aware of the difference between apt-get and aptitude!
On the wider issue of f-spot's edit problem I had been refering to it on my laptop. I check on the desktop and exactly the same problem exist there too...no edit function. This seems very strange as the only common factor between the two is that I used the same install disk. I think it's time to start looking for a new photo manager!Ubuntu Lucid 10.10
