Error reading Ubuntu disk.
I downloaded Ubuntu 9.10 and burned the image of the is to a cd using infrarecorder. After that I booted ubuntu and after i selected the language and try to install it, it gives me a message saying ERROR READING BOOT CD and it gives me an option to reboot. I tried rebooting it several times but the same error message keeps coming up. The disk is clean and I can read it on my laptop but not my desktop. Can anyone help me?

Did you check MD5SUM and burn your cd at slowest speed possible?

Maybe the lens is dirty in your CDROM on your Desktop as you say the Laptop can read it. This is not unusual sometimes as CDROM lenses do get Dirty.
I keep a Lens Cleaner CD made my Philips and sold by Walmart just for this kind of problem.

I find that my desktop can be a bit choosy about the media it will read. It doesn't like the cheap CDRs. My exteranl CD doesn't care so that often gets used instead
