[SOLVED] Ubuntu - Installation Problem ( partitions )
Hello,
i have a problem with my computer.
I will tell you the whole story about it
I used up to a few days Windows Vista, but it crashed and i can't reboot or reinstall it.
( The installation stops without any message ).
Now i decided to test a linux version and i choose Ubuntu.
I downloaded it and burned it to a cd. ( I did this on an other pc )
The installation manager starts after booting and i can chose my country, keyboard and so on.
Then appears a window with "Preparation of partitions". But this window is empty and i can't chose anything.
If i press "Next", the installation manager tells me, that i have to chose a "Root-Filesystem".
But this isn't possible, because there isn't any partition.
Can i create a partition for Ubuntu on a other way or is there any other solution for this problem?
And some computer informations:
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
- 2gb DDR2 RAM
- Geforce 9600GT
- 640gb SATA II hard-disk
// English is not my mother-tongue, but i hope you understand me

I don't use Ubuntu but when you get to thePreparing Partitions you should have some tabs at the top, New, or Create or maybe Custom or Expert tabs to create partitions. If it's not working, you can download either GParted or Parted Magic to create partitions.
