    Help with Connecting to the internet

    hello guys im new here in using dis great operating system i dled ubuntu 9.10 and i got it ready on ma pc but after the setup process is done i couldnot get it attached to my LAN or internet connection i use a DHCP router wich need no configuration as it was shown problem is even my acctivity lamp on da router doesnot give any activity light not even a blink wish u guys can help me out thx for reading an cya

    is this a wireless connection or a wired connection?

    Open a terminal: applications->accessories->terminal

    post the results from these codes

    Code:
    ifconfig
    iwconfig
    lspci
    lsusb
    hopefully you have a usb key or something to transfer the results to a machine with internet access

    its wired connection and i aready got it working on windows without no changs and should i have the cable active on my router first be4 doing those codes ? it appear on the router like its not connected i guess i need to enable the card or somethin like this sorry first time to use ubuntu

    You should have everything plugged in as you would expect it.

    everythin is workin great on windows when i turn to ubuntu i got no connection available
