Is there a way to transfer files over the internet, with my friend
He's got these files for linux, like installations, and some themes, and stuff like that, but it's not like windows, idk how to transfer files. On AIM on windows i can just transfer files, but i cant do it the same way with Ubuntu, does anyone have any ideas, thanks.

I believe pidgin supports file transfer.
Either way you could set up an ftp server, but be careful when sharing over the internet!

i thought linux was safe from sharing over the internet, and i use Empathy, not pidgin, if you know how i can do this, i would appreciate it, thanks.

Don't forget about email, with todays mass storage email services for free....you can't overlook email. You could also upload files to the home directory of your ISP, most ISP's give free home webspace to account holders, might as well make good use of it.
I don't use Empathy but I do know it supports file transfers. This is a link from 2008.

Well I have a Gmail (Google) with 7409 MB of storage space....anyone can sign up for Gmail.
