    IF I create a new partition in windows, can i use unetbootin to install on that drive correctly.

    Hello and Welcome.
    Yes, you can use Unetbootin to install distros to the hard drive. When you start Unetbootin, you'll see a check box the says "Check here to show all drives".

    My wife installed the Ubuntu remix on her new netbook and was very disappointed. It works just fine, but it wasn't what she wanted, so she reconfigured it for a full ubuntu install. I got her a unit with a big hard drive, so it wasn't a problem, disc space wise.
    Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
    Just remember, Semper Gumbi - always be flexible!
