    SD Card IO problem

    I've searched over internet and this forum but I coudn'l find anything useful.

    Well, I've a 2GB SD Card. I've connected it to my computer.

    First, I've checked dmesg output;

    Code:
    [691033.273024] sd 6:0:0:2: ioctl_internal_command return code = 8000002

    Then, I've tried both formating with mkfs and taking back-up with dd but the I've got "I/O Error" output and nothing happend.

    Later, I've thought that I might be able to rescue some data from it and I've ran foremost application and I've got same I/O Error again...

    Finally, I've tried to check for errors with fsck and testdisk applications... fsdik gives I/O Error and testdisk says that partion size is 512KB... When I say to anaylze disk to testdisk, it also gives me I/O Error...

    Any ideas to solve this? I really need to solve this I/O Error problem... Data is not important but device should work again

    Hi,
    Does the card work on other computers.

    For me it seems that the card or the card-reader is broken.
    Theres an dd witch tries a little harder ... (Ddrescue).

    But it seems to me that theres no use-able communication between the PC and the SD-Card.
