fd0 error on 0 or something like that

Personally I have an intel PC which runs Ubuntu 8.04 smoothly. I tried booting the live-cd from an AMD athlon and encounterred the above mentioned message as an error after loading.

I went into the bios and disabled the floppy drive as a third booting option as the machine does not have one in it but I still encounter the same problem.

I can insert the floppy drive but doubt that would work?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi netstrider !

It was a bug in 7.04 but you are using 8.04 and I am not sure if its a same bug.
Check the comments of Users under that bug. There isn't a single straight solution for this problem. Different method worked for different users.

Instead of removing Floppy from Boot Options in BIOS, try to disable it.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
