Gzip update failure in 8.04

The last two times that I updated I received a failure notification for gzip. I do not know what I did to cause that to happen; but is there a way to fix it??

I recently downloaded " hearts for gnome " which is a gzip file but i was not able to install it. Perhaps that jammed up the gzip!!

clean all clears cache and doesn't display any output.

Do you receive any failure notification for gzip now?

The list went by so fast that I could not tell if there were any failures or not. I'll have to check it out in a week or so when new updates will allow me to look for any failures!! Thanks for the help D. C.!!
