    partitions in vista/ubuntu

    Hi

Installed ubuntu on 160 gb Vista os.

Plan: dual boot, but halfway there was a powercut...

Now I have 70 GB partitioned to Vista, whilst the other half has 'disasppeared'. (doesn't show in explorer)

How can I partition these 70 Gb to Ubuntu or Vista?

    Thanx...

How were you doing the install? From CD/DVD, or other?
Did you resize vista and create a separate partition for Ubuntu?
Were you trying to do a wubi install of Ubuntu in a windows directory/folder?
If you have an Ubuntu or any Linux Live CD, run command sudo fdisk -l (lower case Letter L in command) to post your partition information.

I would recommend using WUBI for installation. Its simple process where you download the
WUBI .exe. You need to then install the exe in windows itself and this takes care of Ubuntu installation. It will automatically changes the boot order to Ubuntu and vista. I would recommend downloading the Ubuntu ISO image before starting of the wubi installation. Place the wubi installation in the same drive as the exe.
