Problems installing Ubuntu 8.10
Hi,
I am a new user to ubuntu and I am trying to install it on an asus eeepc 4g from a usb memory stick. After I click install from the menu, I get a message saying
" BusyBox v1.10.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.10.2-1ubuntu6) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands."
When I click help I get the list but I have no idea which command to use? I don't see any of the normal installation screens I have seen in screen shots it just goes straight to that message. I would appreciate any help as I have no idea what to do and hate the linux OS that comes provided!
Thanks

Welcome to the forums!
Two more releases have come out since 8.10 was released and they should have better hardware support along with additional features. Have you tried the latest release to see if the same problem appears?oz

Ubuntu
Thanks for the help, I tried again with 9.10 and this time it worked fine. I also tried a different way to make my usb device bootable using a guide I found. Is it ok to post links to other help pages in this forum? If it is I will post it for other new users like me as it was very simple and clear. Also does anybody know of any place I can start to learn basic programming to use in ubuntu? Thanks again for all your help
