Detecting wlan0 ubuntu 9.10
Hi all -
New to linux, having some problems connecting to my wireless network...
I'm using an HP mini 110, dual boots win 7 and ubuntu 9.10
wireless hardware is a broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN
It looks like HP, in win 7, has 'customised' in some way WLAN settings/config manager
In ubuntu, when I try either ifconfig or iwconfig, I get:
eth0
Lo
Wlan0 is missing entirely. It's almost as if the hardware isn't 'waking up' when I boot in ubuntu, whereas of course it works perfectly in win 7.
Are there any terminal commands I can use to both 'find' and 'wake up' the wlan0 device, or, alternatively, any suggestsions of changes to be made in win 7 which might carry over to linux boot such that linux sees my wlan hardware?
Thanks!

probably you don't have the right driver or firmware for your wireless device
