Changing The Dell Bios Splash screen.

For anyone reading this I was wondering if there is a way for me to change the dell bios splash screen to another picture, like Tux the penguine or something like that.

I've seen alot of people say not to do this due to the editing of the bios and the probability of crashing your system.

I was wondering if there was a safe and easy process for doing this???

Please get back to me as soon as possible.

    I'm running Ubuntu 9.10

Some BIOS's allow you to reflash the splash image, but a lot don't because the image is part of the checksum that the BIOS uses to validate itself when starting up. Computer manufacturers/distributors often get a kit (pay $$ for) from the BIOS manufacturer that allows them to customize the splash screen and regenerate the checksum when building the BIOS image. In any case, you will need to do some more research into this to determine the feasibility in your case.
Sometimes, real fast is almost as good as real time.
