ubuntu 9.10 internet browsing slow
I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop with Ubuntu 9.10 installed and for some reason my wireless connection is slow at times. What's weird is when downloading it's super fast but when browsing it is very sluggish at times. I was using FF for the longest time but then switched over to Opera to see if that would help any, and it didn't really seem to make a difference. All other users in the house have no problems browsing. I am using the Network Manager and not the other one that I am spacing on the name at the moment. I also did some research and stumbled upon Ipv6 problems in ubuntu so I found instructions on how to disable it. But when I do the command to edit the grub file a blank text editor comes up so not sure as to why that is happening. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Oh and if this thread is in the wrong section I apologize ahead of time. Thanks.
