aplay start from sepcified time

Hello everyone,

I have seen tutorials and documentations on aplay, however cannot find an option to play some audio file not from the beginning but from some specfified time. I can imagine that aplay doesn't have this option (but why?). And if so, please hint me with some idea of lightwieght console player that I can do this. And hopefully, this one has possibility to get information on the play time (how long it has already been playing).

Thank You for a response. I will surely give it a try, however don't know if people I'm working with want to install any additional software, not already included. The limitation (and that is why I said lightweight) is that the program has to be run on a touch panel, which is based on AMR processor. I will ask them.
