    Where can I find the downloaded applications? I downloaded digital camera apps and can find them, the same with some bible dictionaries.

    Can you tell us more about what's going on here? What type of files did you download? Did you just save them to the Hd or did you actually install them with your system package manager? Which distro and desktop are you using?

    I have kubunto 9.10. I download applications from the k package ( or so I think), but then I can't find them. The only exceptions are games, which I downloaded and find in the applications menu.

    Have you logged out and login back after package installation? Sometimes packages appear in Kubuntu Menu after logout/login only.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
