    Ubuntu on a netbook

I have been looking at a netbook to use for programming (college student).

    I have a few Questions

    1. Does unbuntu netbook version come with extras or less stuff?

    2. Anyone ever built one of the Zotac Netbooks? (sam102)

    3. How Easy is it to install ubuntu on a modern computer , as I have tried 3 times in the past to make a linux pc and everytime I have big issues getting it running. The one time I did have a successful install it was Amazing.

    4. Any info on linux and external display adapters (USB).

    Welcome to the forums!

    1) netbook versions of Linux distributions are usually trimmed down and come with less.
    2) no, I've never done that.
    3) it's usually pretty easy to install on modern computers. i've installed it at least a couple dozen times on 4 or 5 different machines and never had any problems getting it going.
    4) can you provide more details on what information you are looking for?

I want to add a usb connected video adapter (video card) and a 20 inch monitor (allready have) so I have alot more screen to work with when at home . Are drivers hard to find?

Would it matter if i installed the full version of ubuntu? (2gb ram and 320gb internal hard drive)

USB drivers are already included within the kernel. I've never used a USB display adapter so can't say how well they might or might not work.

Your RAM and hard disk are plenty big enough to handle the full version of Ubuntu, and it would be the better to have it on your machine if the processor is strong enough to handle it. Most of the newer computers out now should be able to handle the full version of Ubuntu.

You can read about the system requirements here:
