    how I make backup prior upgrade whole 9.04 ubuntu(to 9.10)? is recommend, isn't it?

    Might have a look in $HOME/.evolution/mail/local/ Making a backup is certainly recommended and it should also be done periodically just in case! I make a backup 3 times a week and use tar, others will say rsync, depends on your system/network configuration. My weekly backups only back up $HOME, which is on a separate partition, and /etc so I don't lose any config files. Might want to look into moving $HOME to a separate partition prior to your upgrade.

    what file.ext is the emails in ?

    Exist built-in backup capability ?

    are you recommend use it or use copy/paste to my ext hdd ?
