    Firefox options considered harmful?

    I'm using Firefox 3.5.8 in GNOME. In Windows, I used to be able to configure Firefox to remove cookies from certain sites at the end of the session. Now, the preferences > privacy menu seems to no longer include most of these options. There is some text reading "you may want to clear your history or remove individual cookies, with links to these two basic functions. It gave me a flashback to using Vista; it dis-empowered users in the same way.

    Anyway, how do I access the full preferences menu?

    If you go to Edit-Preferences in Firefox then go to the Privacy tab you can change the setting in there.
    I have it set to Never Remember History. This clears everything out when I close Firefox.
    If you change the Never Remember to Use Custom Settings that is the screen you are probably familiar with. There you can view cookies and set Firefox up to deal with cookies based on what you want.

    If you really want privacy then get this add-on for Firefox called Better Privacy;
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6623

    It tracks and allows you to delete the newest generation of flash based cookies. These cookies are not removed by the standard browser method.

    Comparing Firefox to Vista!???
    That's crazy talk!
