    Question ubuntu sound

    hello frenzs.
    i m new to this forum and also to the linux.
    i m using ubuntu 9.10
    .
    my problem is that whenevr i play any media files using banshhe or movie player i did not get sound without using headphones.with headphones sound are perfectly good.
    please help.

    Right click on the speaker icon in your toolbar and select Sound Preferences.
    Go to the tab marked Output.
    At the bottom of that window is a selection called Connector. Click on it and change it from Analog Headphones to Analog Output.

    You can try from command line:
    alsamixer

    and then maximize all output controls.

    hello TAZmaniac .i tried doing as u suggested bt i didnot get connector there in output tab.
