HOw to mount a USB Modem in ubuntu 9.10

    HI

I have a USB Modem. (It is a Huawei E160 G Model). It work fine under Ubuntu 9.10 because I already did it.

Now due to my learning , actually I want to do it by using the terminal window. I know it actually use /dev/ttyUSB0 for my PC but I try to manually mount it ,it prompt me an error stated: ttyUSB0 is not a logical devices.... .\

Can somebody help me if I want to mount it using terminal window rather just apply for a few click.

    Thanks in advance...

It is not a drive, so you can't 'mount' it like a drive.

If you want to query it, to see what information you can get from it, use minicom. With minicom, you would use AT commands. Depending on the type of modem it is (CDMA, HSDPA etc) you would use different AT commands. Maybe the card maker would have some info on what commands to use.

Here is a list of a few commands that you might try.
