[SOLVED] Installing software to installed system via livecd

I am having trouble installing HPLIP (all versions) onto my system. When I go to configure the source code, it goes into a loop checking for a BSD install. So, to get around this I want to try and install HPLIP onto the system via a livecd. How would I go about doing this?

The printer that I have (HP Photosmart Premium) is not supported by the HPLIP version that is in the repos. By all I mean I have tried compiling different versions.

After many hours of playing around with the printer and computer I finally got the printer working. I tried booting a livecd and downloading and compiling the source code there, then booting back into the system and make and installing it without any luck. In the end, I just reinstalled the system and everything went fine.
