install 9.10
The laptop is a 64 platform. I want to install 9.10. The CD would have to be the 64 also. I have a 32 CD but the windows says it cannot read.

Ah... gotcha.
On a 64-bit machine, you can chose whether you want to install 32- or 64-bit OS.
Only on a 32-bit machine do you have to match up for 32.Jay

I would suggest you to check this thread too.
32bit or 64bit?.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Still need help
I have a laptop with a AMD64. I have tried to boot from the CD. Does not work. I have a downloaded 9.10/32 but when I trry to install I get an error mesg, can't read the files. Suggestions?

Are you sure you are burning the ISO file to disk as an image?

How did you burn .iso image?
Make sure to select Burn Image to Disc option. Do not create data disk. Burn it as an Image.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
