    [SOLVED] Problem with internet/Firefox

Hello. I'm new to Linux, and I recently decided to try out Ubuntu. I used the Wubi installer so it's on Windows (just to see if I liked Ubuntu) and it works fine, but with one exception: the internet (or maybe just Firefox) isn't working. The internet connection worked just fine on XP. On Ubuntu, it says that it was able to connect to the wireless network, but when I try to go to any page on Firefox it just keeps trying to load perpetually and never connects to the site, eventually just showing the "Server not found" page. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Uh...I don't really know what you mean. I could try typing those commands into the terminal, but how am I supposed to give you the results when I can't connect to the internet? (I'm using a different computer to type this reply.) Thanks.

    Welcome to the forums!

Maybe you can copy the information obtained from running the command off to a flash drive or other media, then transfer it over to the machine with a working internet so that you can post it here.

I would suggest you to boot up from Ubuntu LiveCD and check if Wireless is working or not. I don't have much experience in Wireless Card but I know that Ubuntu tries configure it at startup and it works fine most of the time.

Ubuntu LiveCD won't change anything in Hard disk and you can run it safely.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

To ozar: what would you suggest that I type in the terminal? I've got a flash drive, so I can transfer it to this computer.

To devils casper: What is Ubuntu LiveCD?

I'm not sure which terminal application you are using but Gnome Terminal and KDE Konsole both have a copy/paste feature that should work well enough for you.

So what should I type in the terminal, then? In other words, what command should I give?

The commands that I think you are referring to are in the link provided above by coopstah13. You don't need any commands to use the copy/paste function in Gnome Terminal, or KDE Konsole, as it's all done by mouse-clicks.

Sorry if I've misunderstood your questions.
