    Ubuntu wireless problem

Hello everyone on Ubuntu fourm. I just have a question. I am having problems with my acer extensa 5620z wireless. I went on a few fourms and tried a few things they told me to do and It did not work. My question is this If i install wine can I grab the exe file off of acer website and install it that way?

    hi and welcome,
could you post the output of the following command:
    Code:
    lshw -c network
i've never tried to install wifi drivers using wine, so won't be able to provide a solid answer for that. i do however suspect it will not work flawlessly if you are able to get it to work at all. normally windows device drivers consist of a couple of specific files (like .inf, .cat, .sys, etc.).

Start out with this page. Post back with the required info.
As far as using Wine to install the .exe files... wouldn't work.
But there's more than likely some Linux drivers or firmware for your card.

Post up the needed info, we'll get you going.
